Take Back The Night

1 out of 3 women have faced violence at some point in their life, making it a total of one billion (hundred crore) women in the world who are survivors. It is with this statistic in mind that we at Jagori Grameen, along with friends and other organizations, organise each year a large collective campaign against gender violence, One Billion Rising.

On the 25th of November 2017, the UN day for the elimination of violence against women, we launch One Billion Rising 2018 with a Night Walk for Girls and Women called Aao Andhere ko Jeetein, and everyone is welcome. The night is generally a space where women are not allowed to roam around freely, the night becomes a confined time for all other marginalised groups especially the women, as it has become a space where violence is rampant. We will begin the walk, march, dance and sing beginning at 6:30pm at Fawara Chowk and reaching to Lion's Club where from 8 pm-10pm. we will celebrate the night with a cultural program, talks, sharings and a musical band.
